Agency Solicitations
To become involved with the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program, one must prepare a response to a solicitation. Unsolicited proposals are NOT accepted by any of the SBIR or STTR programs. Participating agencies release their solicitations throughout the year. Although they have some similarities, the solicitation guidelines are actually quite different, especially between those agencies that provide their awards as grants and those that use contracts. The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the structure of the solicitations in order to make them more approachable. Also highlighted are the times of the year when participating agencies release their solicitations and some distinguishing features of an agency’s program.
